Itinerary
Day 1

Transfer from your
home or hotel in Antigua to the airport in Guatemala City (optional)

Arrive at the airport. At the counter
of Tikal Jets/Tag Airlines pay $3.00 for taxes p/person (not

Flight from Guatemala City to Flores. |

7:10 am |
Arrive at the airport in Flores. Transfer
from the airport to Dos Aguadas community (45 km from Flores)
to begin the journey. |
After preparing the pack horses, start of guided
walk to El Zotz. This beautiful walk lasts about 5 hours. Box lunch
will be prepared on the way to El Zotz.
Upon arrival, camp will be set up
to spend the night. In the evening, exploration of the jungle and
bat caves (optional). Bats are one of the most important elements
in the reproduction of the rainforest. Thousands of them come out
of the caves fully charged with the vitality of nature.
Dinner will be prepared. Enjoy a
friendly conversation and get ready to spend the first night in
the jungle.
Day 2
After breakfast, exploration of the archaeological
site. This is an incredible and exciting experience full of history
and nature.
Afterwards, walk through the jungle
for about 4 hours to reach the next camp named “El Yesal”
which is composed of thatched roofs to hang hammocks and mosquito
nets. Box lunch will be prepared on the way.
Upon arrival, camp will be set up
to spend the night. In the afternoon, guided walk in the trails
and hills to appreciate the endless forest and temples of Tikal
to the horizon.
After dinner, spend the second night
in the jungle. Note that this is the most remote area of the rainforest.
Day 3
After breakfast, continue the journey
towards Tikal (approx. 4 hours). Note that pack horses are not allowed
in Tikal Park, so you will have to carry your packs during this
walk. Box lunch will be prepared on the way to Tikal.
After passing undiscovered archaeological
sites among thick tropical rain forest, around noon is the approximated
arrival time in Tikal. Note that you will be arriving in Tikal from
the back side and not from the regular side where other tourists
enter the archaeological site.
The guides will take you to the Hotel
Jungle Lodge/Tikal Inn for accommodation. This is not the end of
your “Adventures in the Jungle” although a much luxurious
and relaxing place to sleep than the other nights.
Fee afternoon in Tikal. You can visit
the local museums or simply relax at the hotel’s swimming
pool.
Day 4
| 7:30 am |
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the
restaurant of the hotel. |
| 9:00 am |
After a short rest, start of guided
tour of the ruins visiting all the major temples and enjoying
descriptions about the archaeological site and Maya culture. |
| 1:00 pm |
End of the tour, return to the hotel
for lunch and get prepared to depart to the airport. |

Transfer from Tikal to the airport
in Flores. |

Arrive at the airport. At the counter
of Tikal Jets/Tag Airlines pay $3.00 for taxes p/person (not
